Warm Up #65

I know your green screen project is due tomorrow. But Google "green screen photos" and look at all the interesting examples. What are some ideas you hadn't thought of?

• Some people had props. They had one where they acted as if they were surfing and photo shopped waves in. I wish I would've brought props. It would've been cool. Maybe next time. 

Warm Up #64

Photoshop can be used to make all sorts of weird combos of photos. Look at the photos below. Do you like the distortions? Do you think these types of photos are classified as "photography," or as "art?" Why?

• I do not like the photos. They make me feel uncomfortable. Especially the first one.  I think these pictures are considered art. Its something different and people are drawn to different. 

Warm Up #63

What are your plans for the long weekend?

I'm planning on going to a camp with my friend at the Naz. I'm also meeting my future roommate this weekend since she's going to the same camp. Mostly beach trips and exploring around point loma. And definitely spending time with my parents and getting things ready for prom. Things like picking up my dress from the tailor and fixing my shoes and testing makeup out. 


Warm Up #62

If you could do one of our projects over, which one would it be?
Why? What would you do differently?

• I would probably redo the light painting project. Now that we've finished it, I have so many new ideas. I know that I would try to be more creative. Making objects out of the light and such. I would make it a lot cooler than I did originally. 

Warm Up #61

Check out these interesting photography facts. Which FIVE are the most interesting to you?

• Core digital technology was created by Kodak. Back in the 1820's, it took several minutes to take a picture. Long exposure portraits took several hours, this is why no one took smiling pictures. Photographing babies was difficult, so the mothers had to dress up as chairs to hold their babies. The number of photographs clicked every two minutes is the same as the number of photographs clicked in the 1800s.

Warm Up #60

What are your plans for the summer?

• I think I'm just going to try and hang out with as much people as possible before we all leave for college. My boyfriend and I want to do a summer trip to Peru. But we'll see how that turns out lol. Lots of beach trips. Lots of road trips. I'm excited for whats coming. 

Warm Up #59

Take a look at this site. Probably something I will start with for next year, but take a look. What are some things that you already do? What are some new things that you learned?

• I already try to make sure I take photos in front of something interesting. I didn't know that you needed to leave some free space for the person. Having a main object in any photo is something that I already do. The golden hour! I always try to take photos during this time. 

Warm Up #58

Take a look at these easy "photo hacks." What do you think? Which one would you try first, and why?

• I would probably try the water on the glass frame first. I think that it's a cool and creative idea. It's also pretty simple and honestly probably the best one out of all of them. It also seemed the most adaptable one. You could change it around with colored water too. 

Warm Up #57

Happy Friday! What are your plans for the weekend?

• On mothers day morning, I am actually driving home from LA since I will be at a concert on Saturday night up. But for my mum we'll be taking her to the flower fields in Carlsbad since she loves them. She always tries to get out of doing things for mothers day so this time we'll sneak plans in our day for her. Lots of flowers. Lots of chocolates. Lots of relaxation for her. 

Warm Up #56

What publication (magazine) would you want to take photos and write for? Why? What do you like about that publication?

• Health. I feel like working for a company like Health would be beneficial to me also. The goals that they strive for are good for the public and would help me gain a better mindset about nutrition. It would also help to reach out to others about dietary and health topics. Overall, I'd love to photograph and write for them because I think health is an interesting and fascinating topic.
