Who Am I?

1. This picture depicts my love for music. You will always find an instrument in my room or on my bed. I've always loved music and the joy it brings me. I mostly write on ukuleles or guitars since I don't know how to play piano well enough. I wish to do write and perform professionally someday.

2. This picture was taken about 5 months ago when I used to paint all the time. This was during a pretty difficult time in my life, and painting helped me find peace among the chaos. I usually try to create images that I find relaxing. My mother always encourages me to paint, as she saw how happy I was doing it. I dedicate almost every painting to her. This one in particular is my idea of some of the Philippine islands as that is where she is from.

3. My love for the ocean is indescribable. As a girl who grew up in Australia, the Philippines and San Diego, I've only ever known of the beach. It has been my home ever since I can remember and I wouldn't give it up for anything. Of course, a change of scenery would be nice once in a while. But when it really comes down to it, I would be in the ocean everyday if I could.

4. My partner. My best friend. My brother. I don't know if I could handle my crazy family on my own without him. He's always been a shoulder to lean on and has never let me down. Never once has he turned his back on me and I love him to the ends of the earth. He's taught me a lot about who I am and who I need to be. And I know deep down, that I wouldn't be here without him.

5. The Hunter White. Honestly, romance aside, everyone needs a Hunter White in their life. He is absolutely the most genuine, down to earth person that I know. He has always been there for me no matter what. And I know that I can always depend on him for anything. He is my rock, my person. He always helps me see the lighter side of the situation and always encourages positivity. What a guy.

6. Over the years, I find it hard to find genuine people who deeply care about you and about the same things that you care about. But I've found those people. These four have helped me grow into the individual that I am today. The are my people and I don't take them for granted. Nothing but love and positivity and compassion from these people. The world does not deserve them.

7. These pictures depict my love for exploration. These were taken during my trip last summer to Hong Kong. Many adventures and mishaps took place during this excursion. New places excite me so much and I love the feeling of seeing new things for the first time without having any previous memories there. My love for learning about new places has contributed to the person that I am today, with a curious yet respectful mindset when going to new places.

8. Last year, I was presented with the opportunity to perform my own original songs in my English class. Although this may seem like an insignificant event, this changed my mindset enormously. At that moment, I truly recognized my goal as an artist. I was helped and pushed by my classmates and teacher to get my music out to the public. I then began publishing my music to SoundCloud and I continue to do so to this day.

9. This is just a small snippet of my family. A crazy bunch, a loving bunch. No one has helped me grow into the person that I am today more than they have. They have been the most encouraging and loving group of people in my life, pushing me to be the best that I can be. I know that I wouldn't even dream of pursuing my goals today without their encouragement.

10. Last but not least, my parents are the best people I know. Always supportive and loving throughout everything. I wouldn't trade them for the world. I've learned to appreciate them more and more throughout the years, and all they've done for me. I've learned from them what the art of caring and the gift of loving can do for you and your soul.
