Warm Ups Part 2

Warm Up #26
12/15

What are your plans for break?

I haven’t got too many plans for break except just relaxation. School has become an extremely stressful part of my life. Relaxing is something thag my brain needs. My friends from college are coming back to town so I’m planning on catching up with them. Overall, I’m just excited to spend lots of time with my family and lots of time resting my poor brain.

Warm Up #25
12/12

What is the difference between a shadow and a silhouette?

It doesn’t seem like there would be  much of a difference since they are both dark figures. But there is a difference. Shadows are often found on the ground or on buildings/walls depending on the time of day. Silhouettes are like filled in outlines of the direct object. They are dark due to the bright back ground in front of them, and the dark background behind them.

Warm Up #24
12/11

What time of day do you think it would be best to catch natural silhouettes? Why?

I think around dawn or dusk would be best for getting silhouette pictures. The light from the sun allows for those types of shadows. Because the sun is so slow, the shadows are better. The sunlight is also more golden. This allows for the darkness of whatever figure to contrast with the sunlight more.

Warm Up #23
12/8

What is your favorite outdoor activity?

I love to play tennis. I've been playing tennis since I was 11, because my dad is my coach. I also love doing triathlons, because my dad is also my coach for that. Sports have always been in my family. The beach and being in water has also always been in my family. I'm convinced I was born with salt water in my veins and chlorine attached to my hair.

Warm Up #22
12/6

What makes this photo a "quiet moment?" Why?

I think this photo is a quiet moment because of the stillness of the water and the mountains. Because theres no one there, theres a peace to the photo. You can tell by the photo that there is no noise. That it's not a busy location and therefore it has a peace and quiet to its place. Also the editing allows the photo to have a "quiet feeling".

Warm Up #21
12/5

What are the differences in these photos? What changes the feeling of the photos?

In the first photo, the dog seems more sad. The way that he sits slumped on the dock, and the lack of saturation and the darker edges makes the photo feel more sad. The second photo has a brighter feeling. With the dog barking, it has a more aggressive and excited mood to the picture. The brighter colors and more saturation allows for the photo to have a more positive emotion as well.

Warm Up #20
12/4

How does the photo make you feel? Does the focus on the hands change the feeling of the photo? Why or why not? What does the lack of color do to the feeling of this photo?

The photo makes me feel warm inside. It reminds me of new life and hope. The focus on the hand gives the feeling of connection and closeness. I feel like it has this feeling because interlocked hands and intimacy between a baby and a parent is beautiful and naturally gives off this feeling. The lack of photo makes it seem more sentimental.
